Palworld server hosting: why you should schedule restarts

Palworld servers have one quirk worth knowing before you start: memory use climbs the longer the server runs. Not because more players join, but simply with time.

Schedule restarts

This is the single most useful piece of advice for Palworld. A server left running for days gets noticeably slower and can eventually hit its memory ceiling. A scheduled restart — nightly, say — solves it completely and costs nothing. At MC-Node you set that in the panel.

Bases weigh more than players

What really loads your server are bases: every working Pal, every production line and every placed structure is simulated continuously. Five players with elaborate bases ask more than fifteen who mostly wander around. Keep that in mind when choosing a plan.

Tuning the settings

Almost everything is configurable through PalWorldSettings.ini: XP rate, how many Pals may work per base, spawn rates and the player cap (up to 32). That base limit in particular is a dial that directly affects how hard your server works.

How much RAM

  • 4 GB: a small group of friends, modest bases
  • 8 GB: an active server with several developed bases
  • 16 GB: a full server approaching the 32-player cap
