Hytale server hosting: what Early Access means for your server

Hytale entered Early Access on 13 January 2026. That means the game works, but updates keep arriving that change things — including on the server side.

Why Hytale is heavier than it looks

Hytale looks like a voxel game but runs on an Entity Component System with far more active entities than, say, Minecraft. Combat, AI and world generation happening at once is when your server works hardest — not the player count on its own.

That is why our plans start at 4 GB rather than 1 or 2 GB.

Regions instead of Zones

World building works with Regions: groups of three to five biomes sharing a theme. Smaller than the old Zones, but there are more of them. For your server that mainly means more distinct areas get generated as players travel — and that costs memory.

How much RAM

  • 4–5 GB: a small group of friends
  • 6–7 GB: a larger group, longer sessions
  • 10 GB: an active server with plenty of exploration
  • 15 GB: a large community

Allow for Early Access

Updates during Early Access sometimes change performance, in both directions. Follow the patch notes and back up before updating. At MC-Node backups run automatically.
